How SkyBooker Helps You Change or Cancel Flights
SkyBooker is an independent travel assistance service that helps US travellers handle changes, cancellations, refunds, and rebookings on international flights. Here is exactly how it works from the moment you call us to the moment your new ticket arrives.
The three-step process
1. You call us
Dial 1 (866) 227-2166 — toll-free, 24/7. A licensed travel agent answers in under a minute on average. There is no automated menu and no callback queue. You speak with a real person on the first try.
Have your booking reference (PNR) or ticket number ready if you can find it. If you can't, no problem — we can pull up your reservation using your name and the airline, or your email address.
2. The agent assesses your options
Once we have your reservation, the agent reviews:
- Your fare class and what changes or cancellations it permits
- Whether your departure is within the 24-hour grace window
- Whether the airline has changed your schedule (which may entitle you to free changes)
- Whether you're eligible for EU261 or other regulatory compensation
- Whether you have miles, vouchers, or credits that can offset fees
- What alternative flights are available, including partner airlines via codeshare
The agent walks you through every option — even ones you didn't know existed. There's no obligation to make any change.
3. You decide, and we process it on the call
When you pick the option that works best, the agent processes it immediately while you're still on the line. Most changes complete in 5–15 minutes. You receive your new ticket or refund confirmation by email within minutes after the call ends.
What this costs
For most simple changes and cancellations, you pay only the airline's standard fees — no service fee from SkyBooker. We disclose every cost on the call before processing anything.
For complex bookings (multi-passenger groups, multi-airline itineraries, name corrections, partially-flown tickets), a service fee of $25–$75 may apply depending on complexity. The agent quotes this upfront.
How we differ from the airline
Calling SkyBooker is different from calling the airline directly in several important ways:
- No hold queue. Airline call centers during peak disruption can have 1–4 hour wait times. We average under a minute.
- Available 24/7. Some airline call centers close overnight or have reduced overnight staffing. We're always on.
- Multi-airline expertise. Our agents handle 40+ international airlines daily, so they understand fare rules across carriers — including cross-airline rebooking during disruption.
- Independent advice. We tell you when staying with your current ticket is the best option. If a website refund tool would get you the same result faster, we'll say so.
What we don't do
- We don't sell new flights from scratch. If you want to book a new trip, the airline website is usually the best place.
- We don't handle baggage claims, lost luggage, or customer-service complaints. These need to go directly to the airline.
- We don't handle visa applications, travel insurance, or hotel bookings.
Privacy and security
When you call us, we collect only the information necessary to process your specific request: your name, booking reference, contact information, and payment method (if a fee or fare difference applies). We do not store credit-card numbers after processing. Calls are recorded for 90 days for quality and verification only. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
